I've been involved with Scouting since 1996.  My father tells stories of how the skills he learned in Scouting saved his life during World War II.  Skills like being able to tie and untie a boat quickly and quietly in the dark, knowing how to cook over a fire and even how to care for your feet.  My son is an Eagle Scout.

I have been a Committee Member with Troop 4017 since 2001.  I am currently Committee and Advancement Chair with the troop, and find that working with youth and watching them mature and advance in the program is very rewarding.

I am active with the Boundary Waters District Committee currently holding the position of Program Chair.  I am a unit Commissioner and had the privilege of going to National Jamboree in 2013 as a Commissioner.  I was the course director for NYLT in 2016 and I am currently the National Jamboree 2017 Scoutmaster for Troop 2230.

I am proud to hold the position of  Associate Lodge Adviser with Ka'niss Ma'Ingan Lodge with the Order of the Arrow and enjoy Conclaves and Section events.
